ENCAPSULATION

YEAR: 2014
MATERIALS: 9 polystyrene spheres, 27 solar panels, 9 analogue electronic circuits, 9 loudspeakers
MEASURES: site specific / 22 cm x 22 cm (9x)
EXHIBITION HISTORY: Dome of Visions, Copenhagen, Denmark. August 2014

Encapsulation is a site-specific sound installation that examines the translation and sonification of the present luminous circumstances.

This responsive environment consists of nine spheres positioned round the peripheral of the dome structured exhibition building. Each sphere harvests the current energy of the sun, and directly translates this into sound. All together the nine spheres can be perceived as one sonic entity, hereby establishing auditory connections across the exhibition space.

During the exhibition period the installation and experience in the space will therefore be constantly changing, where the piece also, by several visits, invites to a discussion about remembrance of memories in space and time.
