Alternating Currents I-IV are a series of kinetic sculptures which quite directly play with the AC electricity from the power outlets of the site. With slowly rotating speakers (one revolution per minute) they distribute the sounds of electricity waves; enabling to hear the unheard and/or the unwanted. Find yourself encaptured with electricity, the foundation of modern life, which usually is sought to be soundless and relegated to be transported inside walls. Alternating Currents I-IV can be seen as witnesses to what we are unable to perceive and the boundary between our sensory apparatus and the materiality of the world.
